In 1944 Ludwig von Mises warned the world that government power in the hands of corrupt and incompetent men has often been the main source of disasters. With more than 60,000 souls lost to covid-19 Americans are surely in the midst of a disaster. Will fearfull Americans sacrifice their rights in exchange for big government’s promise of security? Will they have the insight and fortitude to go to the ballot box and vote for less government, less corruption and less incompetence? Will they vote against the broken two-party system that got us here? Will they return to the values upon which our nation and the Libertarian Party were founded: freedom, equality and justice? We’ll see in November.
